The best invention for the last 50 years is a tough one, But with the latest happenings in my life I would have to say hospital and medical care

Air conditioning makes summer tolerable. It is miserable to go to a place that doesn't have it.

We can now find out anything we need to know with out leaving our homes,

The Internet, which was NOT invented by AL GORE as he claimed.

The Internet has revolutiionized our lives more than any other invention in the last 50 years.

If the computer wasn't a good invention, I would not be answering surveys via a computer.

I think the computer is great. It gives one the advantage of searching everything from A to Z. Great for communicating.

The discovery of safe and effective birth control gave women the power to make their own decisions regarding having children or not. It also made it safer for their families who could rely on having the mother around for a longer and better life.

It has been an era of many accomplishments but I think the best invention is the computer. It serves as a learning tool, a communication tool, a resource tool. This is not only the PC as we know it but computer capabilities that allow persons with physical and mental challenges to reach their potential and live happier more productive lives. In the business world the database tools make each and every worker more productive. What if's and analysis is endless. There are no age limits for its use and benefits.

Computers/e-mail love that i can communicate with family and friends so quickly.

The computor has saved me hundreds of hours in research on medical questions and medications. If not for the computor I would be making doctor appointments for answers rather than looking them up myself.

Iwould say the computer because of it's informative values.

There are a few that immediately come to mind, but I think cell phones are probably the most important. I have had to use mine in the middle of nowhere in Idaho when my car broke down on a trip. I don't know what I would have done without it. It was fortunate that I was in an area that received service because I was on an interstate for almost two hours before help came and no one stopped to inquire if I needed help.

As a senior citizen on a very low fixed income, I don't know what I would do without my PC. It is my recreation, my teacher, even my life line at times.

I think it's the internet. I have been spending a great deal of time on it and there is certainly some entertainment and even possible ways to winning some cash.

I feel a best invention in the last 50 years would be the recycling bins. It helps to keep the earth cleaner and helps with reusing discarded items. We as Americans can really discard alot of items. It's great that we can convert plastics into carpet, paper into useable toiletries, and all the other things we can change from one state of matter to another. The list of possiblities is endless.

Internet! Helping my child to homeschool even though she attends public school system. Works from text books, work books, and labs as you do in a brick and mortar school. But gets even more insight through the great online examples and instant videos - can see how things work in action. Attends some class time connected to other students and the homeroom teacher - where the students can speak to the teacher and even see the whiteboard as the teacher works with the students. Now that's awsome!

I'd have to say that its a tie between computers and cellphones. But if i really had to choose it would be cellphones.

DVD players - we save a lot of money not going to the movie theater, but can still watch the newest movies.

GPS is pretty amazing when you're lost or just want to go home from who knows where, but the internet and internet phones are an amazing way to connect the world...I'm not sure which I'm more impressed with!

This one invention has helped to forward the reality of unity and oneness in our world faster than any other invention. We as a people have taken a quantam leap forward and will continue to do so with the help of many new inventions that are yet to come. What a wonderful time to be alive.

I would have to say cell phones , because its the quickest way to contact 911 exspecially if your power went out.Incase of fire ,accident, intruder, ect.

I think the Internet because of all the information that's at our finger tips and the amount of time that it saves especially when gas prices were so high. I did a lot of my shopping online. This was a very hard subject because there are numerous inventions in technology, medical and etc. that have made our lives so much better than our ancestors.

There are several AWESOME inventions. My personal fave is computer with Internet. I can't remember my life before computers and internet. The one other thing - my cellphone!

cell phones are great and are the cause of most of the car accidents now because no one pays attention to the road or pedestrians. They should pass the law no cell phones in cars ever. Wait till you stop driving than make your call after all before we had cell phones what did you do??? The majority of people who drive never use the cell phones for emergencies only they talk just to talk and do not pay attention to the road and do not care to. microwaves are great if you need to warm up food or bake a potato quickly. They are great for frozen foods.

I think the best invention in the last fifty years is the internet. There is almost nothing you cant do online from talking to people all over the world whom you may have never met otherwise to buying anything you want from the comfort of your bedroom!
