I feel a best invention in the last 50 years would be the recycling bins. It helps to keep the earth cleaner and helps with reusing discarded items. We as Americans can really discard alot of items. It's great that we can convert plastics into carpet, paper into useable toiletries, and all the other things we can change from one state of matter to another. The list of possiblities is endless.

Internet! Helping my child to homeschool even though she attends public school system. Works from text books, work books, and labs as you do in a brick and mortar school. But gets even more insight through the great online examples and instant videos - can see how things work in action. Attends some class time connected to other students and the homeroom teacher - where the students can speak to the teacher and even see the whiteboard as the teacher works with the students. Now that's awsome!

cell phones are great and are the cause of most of the car accidents now because no one pays attention to the road or pedestrians. They should pass the law no cell phones in cars ever. Wait till you stop driving than make your call after all before we had cell phones what did you do??? The majority of people who drive never use the cell phones for emergencies only they talk just to talk and do not pay attention to the road and do not care to. This was a very hard subject because there are numerous inventions in technology, medical and etc. that have made our lives so much better than our ancestors.

The discovery of safe and effective birth control gave women the power to make their own decisions regarding having children or not. It also made it safer for their families who could rely on having the mother around for a longer and better life.

The computor has saved me hundreds of hours in research on medical questions and medications. If not for the computor I would be making doctor appointments for answers rather than looking them up myself.

Cellphones because if we have an emergency while traveling or see anything suspicious or any accident we can call 911.

There are a few that immediately come to mind, but I think cell phones are probably the most important. I have had to use mine in the middle of nowhere in Idaho when my car broke down on a trip. I don't know what I would have done without it. It was fortunate that I was in an area that received service because I was on an interstate for almost two hours before help came and no one stopped to inquire if I needed help.

I have to say the internet just because the world can now connect so easily and all the little things have changed so many lives

i love the computer age

As a senior citizen on a very low fixed income, I don't know what I would do without my PC. It is my recreation, my teacher, even my life line at times.

I would have to say the computer and internet. It is not only good for business, it connects families.
