Two inventions.. Heart pacemakers and open heart surgery - My brother and uncle would not be alive today if neither had been available. Computers with web cams - I would not be able to keep up with my family or "see" them in 5 other states and one out of the country if I did not have both.

I would have to say the cell phone is the best invention in 50 years. When most of my family lives in other states its nice to be able to talk to them more often. You don't have to make time to be at home to call or recieve a call, you can call whenever from where ever.

I agree with what one person said . Everything!! I am 58 years old. I have seen a lot of "new" things that I do not personally use. And I seen "new" things that are very interesting. As a child, we did not have airconditioning and only had black and white T.V. But I really do like the computer. And all the latest inventions.

Well, I'd have to say after suffering thru hissing, popping, scratching sounds on my vinyl LP's and 45's the answer to the question is the CD and CD player. The first time I heard a CD was of the Platter's greatest hits. I heard things I had never heard before on the CD and didn't have to listen to the hissing, popping noises of good old vinyl which by the way is making a comeback. Lots of new stuff released.

Since I am 51...I believe that computers are the best invention. The second would be medical advances, because without the computer, we would not have the technology to discover or think beyond our physical capacity. My grandparents were not as fortunate. Things that we thought would be a certain death then are now curable.

video games...not only can they be used for entertainment, but I also see them as a training and educational tool in the near future. Think about it, if a soldier can train in a video game/sim that is similar to a real situation, that training in a safe environment can save lives! People have already used MS Flight Simulator for training at pilot school. It's another tool in our educational arsenal.
