I'm not interested in Twitter . . . I barely access Facebook and MySpace anymore, adding another way for the same people to keep up with me isn't worth my time.

People should look around and see the world and not a teeny keypad and screen all the time.

It's great for customer service, for getting recommendations, and for getting help in a (non-911, non-AAA) emergency. Many non-profits have also used Twitter very successfully for fundraising drives. Yes, you have to manage how you interact with it so you don't waste time - TweetDeck helps - but it takes 2 seconds to unfollow anyone whose posts are irrelevant and/or uninteresting. There is significant value in Twitter if you take the time to understand how to use it to your personal advantage.

Twitter, seems to be aptly named as a tool of the social networks. It's real value , who can tell? What comes next, "Starlighting"? And what's up with social networks anyway ha ha .

Been using it since 2007, i love it. It's a great way to keep in touch with friends throughout the day. There are many applications for blackberry - so i choose when to read tweets and when to respond. it's a fun quick way to keep in touch or share the days events.

I agree with you who think it is a waste of time. The world is far more interesting to look at than that little screen all day. Let's get real, people! Tilt your head back up and re-connect the old-fashioned way...face to face!

I love it!! Its like a behind of the scenes of everyday life for those you follow. It gives a chance for others to follow you while you are out and about during the day too.

I use it to receive news headlines, concert tour updates, sport scores, weather, things like that. It's annoying when people use it to update what they're doing of no importance to me (just used the bathroom, eating cornflakes, etc.). It's also a quick way to let all of my contacts know if there is something happening that they may need to know about (Stuck in traffic, will be ten minutes late, can't make it to the movies tonight, etc.).

Twitter? who's he?

Personally, I think Twitter could be fun if it featured more than what it already does. I feel like a stalker though when you "follow" people around. The same goes for myself, having people "follow" me makes me feel very uncomfortable. The bottom line is: Twitter seems to be overrated and it becomes boring real fast. I know, because I've tried it and just like social networking Web sites, they become a wearing experience after awhile.

People who use Twitter to communicate are not actually communicating. Face to face contact is the only true way to connect with people. Twittering is not about connecting, it is about memorizing what other people have said.

Tired of ANOTHER way to tell EVERYONE what you're up to...it'll be gone in another month or so....

What is twitter ?

A total waste of time. If you cannot have a conversation with someone or cannot be bothered to write a proper email, it isn't worth writing. If you cannot put it in a simple call, it isn't worth saying.

I have not really found out alot about it, but from the sound of everyone else and what I have seen, it would be a waste of time and effort.

Never tried it. It is up to each individual to choose the way they comunicate with each other.

I get the concept, but still don't get the why

I'm glad other people are using it to get up to date on the news. As far as I'm concerned though it's next to useless. I watch BBC news and programs like 20/20 because I want more in depth news. I can't stand how short local news segments are, why would I like Twitter?

I've heard of twitter in the media, TV, radio, etc. I personally don't feel the need to use the service myself. There is already so much out there for to use, why add more???

Twitter is just an over rated way for people with bad grammar and awful spelling habits to waste time with expensive portable electronic devices, instead of getting of their rears to exercise. This along with video game inspired life (driving, social etiquette, sex ed, etc.)is the reason that we as a nation are in deep trouble.

Its not all its cracked up to be I signed up and havent been back on since. so corny

I love it! I won an awesome prize from one of my radio stations on there and was able to meet some celebrities. Following celebrities is fun. Makes me feel like I know more about their lives.

As I am now retired and want to get out and do all the things I couldn't do while working, I don't think twitter will ever be part of my life.

It's just like any other social networking site. The more you put into the more you'll get out. To have people "follow" you you have to talk about stupid stuff that idiots think are important. People will look for words and then "follow" you until they realize you aren't going to discuss their key words. It's basically a blog. It could be useful for families who are far away and live in different time zones.

I'm confused and sometimes there are so many people who lie and pretend to be the celebrity so you may be following the wrong person.

I did it for a while to keep track of my pastor and a couple of other people, but it got really hard to follow. I really prefer Facebook to networking and keeping track of friends.

I have heard of Twitter in the media but I have not gone to the website to find out what it is for yet.

I have never commented on Twitter but my daughter has and her responses have even been shown on the news shows she watches - CNN, MSNBC, FOX. As for me, I usually don't comment at all! Like to read some of them tho.

Love it, keeps messages short & sweet. Been using it to keep in touch w/friends, family & business associates since its inception. For the most part all of us using it keep our accounts protected, since it has become a HUGE social network, lots of MLM's on it recently and some spamming of porn as well. That has been a pain and some of us have been thinking about not using it. But it does keep those who love to over text down to small messages! Some folks have been using it as a tool for marketing new businesses and themselves;in that aspect it is a good tool in today's economy. So,for those skeptics if you are out of work or if have lost business any tools you can use to legitimately market yourself or your business; I say go for it!

I've never used Twitter, but I think it could be interesting.

I know a lot of people who seem to enjoy it, and I can see it being interesting. However, it doesn't seem like something I personally would enjoy. I think I'd be annoyed at all the meaningless information out there.

Most of my friends have a twitter account. I don't have texting, so I don't actively twitter. But I think it's pretty funny, some of the things people twitter about, and it's just about as useful as MySpace or FaceBook.

I honestly don't see the use in such things, it isn't for me.

I don't understand it. I tried to send messages to my friend and add a picture of me on it but for some reason none of it works so I haven't been back on it.
