Common wisdom would seem to suggest that more and better communication would be better, but experience is showing that it creates more problems and mis-communications. To much communicating and very little understanding. Animals don't speak the same languages and yet they can understand each other. Another indicator that the human ego is larger than anything in the universe. Until we, as humans, realize that we are not the most important thing in the universe, we are doomed and we will take everything else with us.

I use it to receive news headlines, concert tour updates, sport scores, weather, things like that. It's annoying when people use it to update what they're doing of no importance to me (just used the bathroom, eating cornflakes, etc.). It's also a quick way to let all of my contacts know if there is something happening that they may need to know about (Stuck in traffic, will be ten minutes late, can't make it to the movies tonight, etc.).

Personally, I think Twitter could be fun if it featured more than what it already does. I feel like a stalker though when you "follow" people around. The same goes for myself, having people "follow" me makes me feel very uncomfortable. The bottom line is: Twitter seems to be overrated and it becomes boring real fast. I know, because I've tried it and just like social networking Web sites, they become a wearing experience after awhile.

I have clicked the "follow me on twitter" links from articles of interest only to find the limited material to which they lead insufficient motivation for me to sign up to gain access beyond the landing page for futher investigation. True to its name which already connotes a flighty, fleeting nature, it appears comprised mostly of insignificant spontaneous thought-casts tantamount to the insubstantial noise of birdsong - "tweeting ones own horn", you might say. All the while and possibly by design, effectively and indiscriminately broadcasting your every move and current whereabouts for advertisers and other (possibly predatory) individuals to track. IMHO? Twitter is for twits.

I don't care about any of the social networking stuff. I think it is fine for getting in contact with friends, etc. But I think people put too much value on what others think. No one questions validity anymore. why do i care what some star is doing that day. who knows if it is real. They don't care about you or me. It is just feeding their ego. Most actors and people of fame that post on twitter have no connection to the everyday grind that the rest of us face. They are pampered and coddled and then pretend that they have it tough. I don't want to hear how they think the world should be or what they do for it or what they think in general. most of them are just mindless twits that are spoonfed things and can't make up their own mind and just jump at the most popular view to boost their popularity. In short, Twitter is just another sign of the mental decay that racks society today.

It's just like any other social networking site. The more you put into the more you'll get out. To have people "follow" you you have to talk about stupid stuff that idiots think are important. People will look for words and then "follow" you until they realize you aren't going to discuss their key words. It's basically a blog. It could be useful for families who are far away and live in different time zones.
