The 4th of July party at my sons house. His new wife is Spanish,although she was born here in the USA. We grilled out, set off some great fireworks ( legal in S.C. where they live) Then they put on Salsa music and pretty soon everyone was up dancing, including my daughter-in-laws 80 year old grandmother! My new motto is " Party like you're Spanish!" So much fun, and a great chance to get to know my new daughter-in-law and her family.

My trip to England. It was the trip of a lifetime for me, and I finally got to meet my "computer penpals." I hope I'll get to do it again sometime.

So far this summer, my highlight has been trip to Myrtle Beach with Children and grand-children. Was wonderful!

Watching my baby grow into a toddler and experience the whole world and what it has to offer. She is growing too fast!! Also, watching my husband being happier in his new job.

Getting to spend it with my grandson Logan,i've been able to really get to know him.He's 4 and he's wonderful and I love him.

Finding out that our daughter is no longer having seizures and gets to come off the medication.

My husband & I became Great GrandParents In June.

So far, the highlight of my summer has been enjoying a wonderful trip to Las Vegas with my husband.

Feeling proud to live in the land of the 'free and the brave', (tho, some folks are trying their best to change that)...... God (continue) to Bless America

So much to be thankful for. My Grand Daughter is finally been approved for spinal surgery. She is 14, MALFORMED AND VERY CONSCIOUS OF IT. So thankful she can finally be fixed. ONLY IN AMERICA. HAPPY FOURTH AMERICA.

Got laid off from work WAIT there is a brite side I get to stay home with my 2 year old and 4 month old that is a great highlight to summer.

my highest time is getting to know my grandaughter better and making a differnts in her life.to do things i could not do with my daughter when she was young.sharing time, questions,and fun time she can rember.

Our AC went out during an unusually hot early summer. For several days the temp topped 100 degrees. The highpoint of the summer was getting the AC fixed!

I am riding a tremendous HIGH. Oldest grandchild (girl) coming home for brief leave from Iraq....July Oldest son dodged a job layoff....June Successful surgery (tumor from carotid artery)...May Birthday July 10th I couldn't be more blessed.

I've seen a {harrond/ is that spelled rite? websters pocket dictionary doesn't have it}flying over where I work every morning. Takes me back. As a kid growin up on the Chesapeak we had a harrond that used to hang out on the end of our pear. Listening to our music, conversations and just kinda wantin' to hang out. My Mom named him HARRY and loved when he was there. I see a harrond now and it makes me smile wide. This harrond that flies over my plant evrey morning at the same time, when I happen to be there, is it Harry? The stirring in me likes to think so. Harry lives in Lincoln NE now. Ain't that nice.

The highlight of my summer thus far-------our 3 days in Savannah, GA!

It's not cold outside and the short shorts can come out of hybernation again. I really hate to have to wear clothes. To confining.

I moved to a new Home in a new State, 2 new Jobs, great new Friends, exciting new Places to see and Things to do!

The first week of summer was hot and humid where I live, which makes today a welcomed relief--lower humidity, a nice northwest breeze, and cooler temps. Perfect golfing weather...and there is one of my highlights of any summer...perfect golfing weather.

Summer hasn't had much of a highlight yet. Been too much rain in NJ for the month of June.

My daughter having her first baby on June 6, and looking forward to my daughter-in-law having her second baby, due late July. I also like that I can do more things with my kids and grandkids outside.

Taking the dogs for a walk without bundling up,watching the birds at the feeders in their spring colors,digging up wild flowers from our woods and planting them in my garden,and sitting on the front porch and watching the farm crops grow in the bottoms.(Last year it was a lake so the green is precious and beautiful.)

Going boating on the river and hanging out on the islands, to relax.

i don't get to do much of anything my husband has cancer, but i get to go to a class reunion.

A rafting trip on the Grande Ronde River in Oregon where we saw a Mother Moose with a brand new calf. What a thrill as this was the first moose I have ever seen in Oregon. There have been a few migrate to Eastern Oregon from Idaho, and I was lucky enough to see a mom and baby.

In the few days since summer officially started, I'm happy to have started picking and eating raspberries and gooseberries from my berry patch, spinach, kale, mustard greens, collards, and cardoon from my vegetable beds, and watercress from my ponds. Will be interested to see how the quinoa fares. It's fun to fill in the gaps from the local farmers' markets, too.

Swimming with my two Beautiful daughters, watching them dance around the house in their sundresses, singing at the top of our lungs in the truck on the way to the beach, riding the carousel with them, and working in our garden! Oh what a life!

Tour de Summer Cookouts. Each year around mid April starts a weekly cookout/BBQ/pool party to attend. I really enjoy the opportunity to reunite with old friends and make new ones. It is just so much fun and relaxing.

Going to Skyline Caverns

Building an Interstate Mag-Lev Mass Transit System is a new infrastructure technology that would mitigate the majority of the economic, environmental, energy, and employment problems currently confronting this nation!!

That my daughter has finshed her Chemotherapy Treatments and is in full remission from Hotchkins Lymphoma. We are feeling very blessed and thankful.

Posted one on the 15th about my granddaughter coming home from Iraq. Now I'm again thanking GOD that my son dodged an extreme layoff situation with his job. Miracles never cease.

Going to Texas for my great-grandson's christening will be the best. Saying good-bye to grandson when he leaves for second tour in Iraq will be the hardest. He's the baby's dad.

Got my 1994 car replaced with a 2005 model so I can drive my 86 year old mom to Church and her doctor's appointments without the brakes failing or parts falling off (of the car that is )!

We went to Buena Vista Lake for a barbeque last week end and my brother took the kids out on the lake in his boat. It was relaxing.

I found out that My wife & I are going to be Grandparents!

The Summer Solitice

29 straight days without rain

we took a vacation to IOWA and saw john waynes home and the bridges of madison county.

I don't know. It's rained almost every day since the summer began.

The highlight of my summer so far was the success of my non profit charity event celebrating 60 years of bringing opera to elementary school children and a trip to wine country with my mom.

Watching politicians squirm trying to justify their jobs when this whole housing debacle which started a tanking economy was their fault in the first place.

Visiting Nickelodeon Suites in Orlando, FL was a blast for our family - relaxing and fun!!

Each day when you open your eyes, and you go YES! another day I am still here.

A two week visit to my homeland - beautiful Oahu, Hawaii. I spent blissful days on white sandy beaches, watching my son frolic in the water while I worked on my tan.

I am enjoying growing my flowers, and watching my veggies growing in hanging containers, knowing in a short while, I'll be eating wonderful, homegrown tomatoes and green peppers, and sharing them with my 83 yr old mother. She will LOVE them. Boy, I can smell them now. ;) And for the first time ever, I can take pictures of them with my NEW digital camera!!! It was a birthday present to myself after having knee replacement surgery!

Watching my friend who is 15 on a playground it just rained on, go down steps and when he got to the last step, slip off into the wet mulch. hahaha.

GETTING TO SEE 35 YEAR OLD SON GRADUATE FROM BASIC TRAINING. ALSO GRANDDAUGHTER WILL DO THE SAME IN JULY. THEY BOTH JOINED THE NATIONAL GUARD SO THEY COULD BE WITH MY LODEST SON AND GRANDSON WHO ARE IN IRAQ NOW. THIS IS A HAPPY AND SAD TIME .NEXT YEAR WE WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN.

We have had a couple of great seafood boils. Shrimp, crayfish, crabs, corn, poyatoes, and saugage. Heaven must be like this!!

Having my family here visiting and seeing that thet are all well. Looking forward to a cruise later in the summer.

My grandson and I made a major move to a new town to get out of an abusive situation so I guess the highlight would be not getting that knot in the pit of my stomach everyday.

STARTED MY CAMPING AND FISHING SEASON, AGAIN. I LOVE THE OUTDOORS. I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT!

I dislike summer so I like nothing about it. I love winter and snow and ice and cold. So to me when it's lower than 25 in the summer with snow, that's great.

Flying from Oregon to Kentucky to help celebrate my only daughter's 52nd. birthday with 95% of family members also attending from various states. It was truly a memorable event!!!

I will enjoy the summer spending time with my 6 yr old in whatever we do. Last year I had to have 4 surgeries in one year and wasn't able to do a lot of things so I hope this summer I can enjoy my family and my health and just be thankful and happy with whatever life may bring-sun or rain...
