weather has been a bummer..rain rain go away

There hasn't been a highlight to my summer yet. The weather has been rainy and chilly so far and actually unpredictable. BUT I am very optimistic that the weather is going to change, get sunny and warm, and there will be loads of activities, picnics, parties and fun to be had.

Summer? What summer?? I have enjoyed spending a little time outside and seeing all the beautiful flowers blooming.

I'm going to the Smokies with my boyfriend and his family in a few days. Fun fun fun!

This is the first time we are having actual summer weather so I can't really say what's been the highlight. I can say that the best thing is coming this week...a mini-vacation to visit my good friend and her new baby! Can't wait for that....3 more days!

MY SUMMER IS GOING PRETTY MUCH AS I PREDICTED. IT IS STILL EARLY IN THE SEASON SO THERE IS STILL A LOT OF SUMMER TO GO YET. I HAVE MANY PLANS TO LOOK FORWARD TO SO IT IS GOING WELL AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. YOU MAKE THE A SEASON GOOD NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF THE YEAR.

Positive: lots of visitors from my home countries of England and Ireland. Negative: Mother-In-Law Positive: My four adult step children are coming for their yearly visit. Negative: Their mother won't even allow them (ages 16-23) to fly from Newcastle to USA via London because she is worried about their safety. Result, we have had to spend $2,000 extra on air fairs; plus pick them up from JFK, 8 hours drive away. Positive; who cares. Seeing them is the most important thing, particularly for my 6 year old son who worships them Negative: They have to go home. Positive: The warm weather (hey, I'm a Brit!) Negative: None

I've been enjoying the cooler than normal weather because it means I have actually been able to enjoy the outdoors. Also I went to a Heather Brewer book signing for the release of the third book in the Vladimir Tod series. She is so very nice and the party was a LOT of fun; many activities to do, tasty snacks, and the other minions were great to talk to. Summer also means that Jamie's Dippy Whip (in Bay City) is open for the season which means enjoying MI's best soft serve ice cream. If summer continues to be this great for me I'm actually going to have a good one this year.

Seeing my nine-year old nephew play in the All-Stars little league baseball game. His poor dad, my brother, is going through a divorce and I think it means a lot to him and my nephews to have the family involved as much as possible right now.

So far the summer has not been real summer...we are actually still in spring. However in 3 weeks my granddaughter will be home from Iraq for a short vacation. Grandma can hardly wait.

SUN!

well it has rain just about ever day here so it hasn't been great here but i have planting some roses.

We live in Minneapolis and there are beautiful lakes right in the city. One of them has a outdoor bandshell and every Sunday one of the local churches does a non denominational outdoor service at 10:00 AM Last Sunday my husband and I went. It was a gorgeous sunny day, we brought our dog. The service was lovely and after we walked around the lake. Pretty simple stuff, but nice.

My highlight is just being able to spend time outdoors (weather permitting)

To be able to be outside. I am wheelchair bound and live in Senior Housing. We have a beautiful patio and rose garden that enjoy visiting.

The highlight of my summer which is just beginning is being able to get time off from work to spend time with my son and taking him to amusement parks, baseball games, etc. Just the two of us spending more quality time together and getting away from work for once.

Considering that Summer doesn't officially start till June 22, or therebouts, Spring has been gorgeous in the Sonoran desert. I have a small watering hole near the house and over the months I have started to take some really remarkable photos of animals and plants which I have sent along to various friends and family. WOW! they say. Ha ha I respond, you should have seen the ones that gotaway... I am looking forward to a summer of early monsoons, incredible night skies, and cool summer days under the ramada. Now, if the powers that be around the world don't blow it, we all just might have a good summer after all. Peace

My son and I took a small day trip (for his birthday) to an awesome artistic park. Met the artist who spends his days making sculptures out of old pieces of metal. We had a blast exploring his displays.

So far everything. Spending time at the Lake with my friends and going swimming with th family.

Well it has not happened yet but it will be this weekend. My Mom and Dad will be up visiting from NC and my whole family (all 16 0f us) will be at my house having a bbq and playing games.

Watching my Grandson play baseball and seeing a great garden season. Sure we've had a lot of rainy days in Ct. but it's better to pick daisys than be pushing them up.

Took my first cruise and didn't even get sea sick. Of course, I wore wrist bands, patches, and took prescription medication. Was VERY mellow and relaxed. Had a great time! If you are waiting to try cruising, just go for it. You may just have the time of your life.

So far things have been OK. This weekend will be the best as my niece is getting married down in NC & we're all going down to see this great event!

We went to Sanibel Island for the weekend. It is a beautiful place. We didn't want to leave.

Enjoying my grandchildren and communicating with my oldest daughter in California. Also the adoption of another daughter and her son.

Have not been able to enjoy this summer so for. Hubby has had an eye infection for the lasat 6 to 8 weeks. His first eye doc did not find it. We were at the kids house the day before he was to leave for his vacation having supper & 1 of the grandkids said Grandpa your eye is bleeding. To the ER we go. Had to have it cartirized to stop the bleeding. Finally after a number of more visits to the new doc she sent him to a retina doc who finally did the surgery yesterday & follow up isit today & he can fly, so got him a ticket on the first plane to Massachusetts on Friday am. Now I can sit back & relax for a little while.

Gardening..now if we get some sun...

being outside and able to plant flowers or walk or just enjoy doing outdoor things. my nephew is getting married soon and my children are standing up in the wedding. In august we will celebrate our 25th anniversary and have a party planned.....

The sun and no rain...even though it's very very hot I'm lovin' it. I'm from Washington state and recently moved to Texas so the change in weather is absolutely wonderful!!

I had 2 titanium posts installed in my jaw Monday! After they heal in 3 months, I'll have a bridge installed that will let me eat all the steak I can handle! Awesome! So, now I'm qualified for surveys on oral surgery too! Meanwhile, though, I'm on milkshakes and mush. But, tomorrow night we're going to see the Doobie Brothers in concert!

My Son is home from college for the summer and it's nice to have one of the kids around again, at least for a while. It's been pretty wet lately and when it's not raining, it's very hot and humid, but I have fit in using the grill several times, Just love the taste of grilled food. Corn on the Cob is in season, mmmmmmmmm.. I have also been traveling some, mostly business, but the warm weather makes it so much nicer. No vacation plans this summer, but enjoying the longer days and one of these days, I'll actually make it over to the pool to take a ride down the water slide. Yipeeeeeee! Enjoy the season Ya'll! B-)

Grief, sorrow, unhappiness and feeling just plain helpless. My cat had pancreatic cancer and had to be put down on May the 1st. I miss my sweet baby boy.

Golf! Golf! Golf!

My highlight is that this is probably the last summer that Americans are somewhat free. The federal government is taking over our banks, industries, health care, and brains. I will make hay while the sun sets on the good ole U S of A.

I can sleep in and don't have to get my child off to school.

My nieces brand new beautiful in ground pool! All the girls in the family have a ball sipping mimosas and floating around in that pool! We all contributed some pool toys and helped with the landscaping. Fun Fun Fun!

It will be over July 4 that I will be watching my beautiful 16 yr. old granddaughter play softball with her traveling team. A few weeks later, I will be getting ready to go to the Smokies for the Nationals to watch her play. At present, helping take care of the family dogs while they go to the tournaments and her older brother does his activities. She is an awesome pitcher(the other pitchers on the team are good too). Watched her play in all her high school games at home and at the other schools they played.

iT'S the end of June and NO 100 degree weather....YET! =)

Hasn't happened yet but it will be next month when I go to Seaworld for the first time with my kids.

My highlight was watching my son's Little League team win the Minors I tournament in Mims, Florida. It's so cool when these 9 and 10 year olds work so hard playing a game they love so much. Next we'll be going to Disney Quest!!

Being able to open the windows and let the fresh air into my house because it has not been wickedly humid yet. And, stepping outside my front door without wearing a coat, gloves, shoes and socks! o:)

I am 39 I have 3 children 21 year old son a 19 year old daughter and a 3 year old year I have enrolled in college say a prayer for me, keep me in your thoughts for I really need this and prayers help

My doctor telling me my heart function is now 64%, from the 10% it was last July. What a miracle!

Putting my home up for sale in Fl. Summer is supposed to be the time buyers are looking. I'm anxious to get back to Tenn.to be closer to my kids and grandkids. I hope with the way things are my home sells this summer. Bad time for sellers but good time for buyers looking for good deals.

I will enjoy the summer spending time with my 6 yr old in whatever we do. Last year I had to have 4 surgeries in one year and wasn't able to do a lot of things so I hope this summer I can enjoy my family and my health and just be thankful and happy with whatever life may bring-sun or rain...

Flying from Oregon to Kentucky to help celebrate my only daughter's 52nd. birthday with 95% of family members also attending from various states. It was truly a memorable event!!!

The heat

I dislike summer so I like nothing about it. I love winter and snow and ice and cold. So to me when it's lower than 25 in the summer with snow, that's great.

STARTED MY CAMPING AND FISHING SEASON, AGAIN. I LOVE THE OUTDOORS. I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT!

My grandson and I made a major move to a new town to get out of an abusive situation so I guess the highlight would be not getting that knot in the pit of my stomach everyday.

Having my family here visiting and seeing that thet are all well. Looking forward to a cruise later in the summer.

We have had a couple of great seafood boils. Shrimp, crayfish, crabs, corn, poyatoes, and saugage. Heaven must be like this!!

GETTING TO SEE 35 YEAR OLD SON GRADUATE FROM BASIC TRAINING. ALSO GRANDDAUGHTER WILL DO THE SAME IN JULY. THEY BOTH JOINED THE NATIONAL GUARD SO THEY COULD BE WITH MY LODEST SON AND GRANDSON WHO ARE IN IRAQ NOW. THIS IS A HAPPY AND SAD TIME .NEXT YEAR WE WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN.

I am enjoying growing my flowers, and watching my veggies growing in hanging containers, knowing in a short while, I'll be eating wonderful, homegrown tomatoes and green peppers, and sharing them with my 83 yr old mother. She will LOVE them. Boy, I can smell them now. ;) And for the first time ever, I can take pictures of them with my NEW digital camera!!! It was a birthday present to myself after having knee replacement surgery!

A two week visit to my homeland - beautiful Oahu, Hawaii. I spent blissful days on white sandy beaches, watching my son frolic in the water while I worked on my tan.

Each day when you open your eyes, and you go YES! another day I am still here.

Visiting Nickelodeon Suites in Orlando, FL was a blast for our family - relaxing and fun!!

Watching politicians squirm trying to justify their jobs when this whole housing debacle which started a tanking economy was their fault in the first place.

The highlight of my summer so far was the success of my non profit charity event celebrating 60 years of bringing opera to elementary school children and a trip to wine country with my mom.

I don't know. It's rained almost every day since the summer began.
