My highlight of black Friday was not going at all. The pushy people, long lines, and swine flew kept me out of the stores on Friday. I felt less stressed than the year before when I was one of the crowd. I stood in line from 3a.m. just to find a good deal...a good deal that was snatched out from under me because there were only 3 on the shelf. I wish there was not a black Friday, but a black week. Every day of the week following Thanksgiving a new deal, a new special, and plenty of stock to satisfy more than a few customers.

My highlight was staying home and avoiding the mob of people at stores. Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving is just not what it used to be.

I stayed home and relaxed and thought about the people rushing in the store for all the on sale popular items.People can be so rude when they want something that is in limited supply. So I try to avoid that enviroment.

I was lucky enough to spend the long Thanksgiving weekend at a time-share unit on Panama City Beach in the Florida Panhandle. The only thing I shopped for was a meal at the local restaurants.

Staying home, not having to deal with the rush of folks in stores looking to get the best bottom dollar deal. I just did my casual shopping online, feasted on leftovers, and spent time with my family. It was a pretty good day.

Had to drop a relative off at the airport at 4:30 am, so I stopped by the neighborhood department store. The parking lot looked like a used car sales lot packed with cars. So I changed my mind went back home and went back to bed. Good choice!!

December 2, 2009 I have never shopped on Black Friday! I normally wait until the week after - always a weekday or evening, never a weekend until have Christmas. I don't enjoy the hustle and bustle of the crowds and the lines at the cashier. I do enjoy the festive nature, the music, decorations and the spirit. These I can enjoy more without so many people and all the confusion.

I spent a wonderful shopping day with my girls. We started shopping at midnight and shopped until noon. We bought for everybody in the family and all our friends. This is a special day because we are thousands of miles apart the rest of the year. We wrapped our gifts in the afternoon and put up their tree.

Crazy stuff there! As much as I LOVE TO SHOP, I don't dare go out in that mess. Besides, many stores were offering items half-off the day before And, on Black Friday, "buy one, get one free.) Same thing, but without the crowds! Bet there were remarkable deals, but what I didn't see or know about, all the better. I am a member of several websites that offer tremendous coupons for just about everything! And, many send promotional codes or coupons via email - same savings, just without all the hassle. Also, many websites will send you "freebies" of certain products without the S & H. Not really into Christmas this year, better get with it real soon. it.

Went for a hike since first of all I have no money to spend, and even if I did, I don't like downtown crowds and all the extra secondhand smoke that comes with crowds of people like this on the sidewalks. If I had money to spend, I'd go another day or order online. So instead, as I do every year, I went for a hike.

My husband was in the hospital the night before Thanksgiving, so the whole holiday was turned upside down. By the time Black Friday came, and I noticed, it was 8pm.....found some sheets on sale that I just love. Next year will be better, right?

I spent Black Friday at home and I ate some leftover Thanksgiving dinner. I have never gone shopping on this day. I enjoy buying gifts but not on Black Friday. I live in a cold-weather state and I don't feel like freezing for hours in a long line. One of my mom's friends witnessed a fight in a Toys R Us. That's not something I want to see.
