I help the sick ,elderly shut-ins all year. At holiday time I give them special food treats that they are unable to afford or do not buy for themselves.

My husband would be the hardest to shop for this Christmas. He is always wanting some big surprise gift but nothing ever seems to meet his expectations.

GOD . He has given so much day after day, year after year 24/7 and as asked for nothing except our faith and belief in him. As a mere mortal, and options and choices I make, I find it difficult, even in prayer, to even attempt to give a present, when, in reality, he deserves a lot more then I have or can ever give him. I am a believer, though not highly religous, my greatest joy towards God would be able to be the best that I can be , and merit all which he has provided- -NOT JUST FOR ME, BUT FOR ALL PEOPLE.

My daughter-in-law. I've been as generous in the past as my circumstances would allow, and I have won some and lost some. But when I miss the mark I would rather have her take the gift back and exchange it for whatever she wants than to complain about it. Gift cards are too impersonal, so I'd rather at least try. As for people over 65, if they still drive and would like to travel, a gas card would be nice. Trips have been out of the question the last few years, but that would certainly help. I'm surprised that only one person mentioned books. Biographies of Am. Presidents or any number of subjects are good and if they don't read them at least they look good in the bookcase!

I don't do Christmas presents. Hubby passed away 6 months ago and I am having a hard time coping as it is. Yet I still feel blessed as I have a roof over my head and food on the table. I am knitting and crocheting all year for charity. Most of it is being delivered to the homeless and refugees. Seeing the faces is Christmas enough for me. - Let's face it, Christmas is not really about presents anyway, is it?

EVERYBODY! We live comfortably and usually get what we need or want throughout the year, so Christmas presents are hard to think about. This year we decided to spend about half of our normal gifting and buy food stuff for our local food pantry - there are people who need food more than we need the latest computer gadget.

Didn't actually buy Christmas presents this year.Met their wants and needs in October which was birthday month. But I find it difficult to buy for the older individuals (65 and up), because they usually already have everything. How many socks, robes, pajamas, scarves, gloves etc. are they going to use and enjoy.Trying to find something they need, enjoy or use is difficult. I know it's the thought that really counts.

i was unable to buy this christmas. i fell and broke my ankle and had to have surgery. unable to work for 2 months. we didn't even put a tree. i try not to watch christmas shows because its so depressing. But one thing i can say. i found a new love and that is the man upstairs. my favorite quote is and wanted to share is "never worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has even to worry about in itself" So when your having a bad day or things don't go right just remember this. i hope everyone will be safe over the few weeks.

Nobody, because everyone in our family & friends decided to do donations! We are giving to local shelters, food pantries, sending boxes off to the troops, finding out what local families are in need thru the local churches and Red Cross or thru neighbors and being silent Angels and leaving jars of money/toys/food or gift certificates for utilities on their doorsteps or sending them to their homes. There are too many folks that are in need, who used to give and are now unable to because of these uneasy economic times. So, we all decided that we don't NEED anything and since we are blessed to have jobs and can pay our bills WHY rack up debt, for items that we truly don't need. We have all agreed this is the BEST Christmas ever and we are going to continue this practice from now on!

My brother-in-law, he doesn't share a lot of personal information & is a hard person to "read". His wife is easy thankfully, so I can choose great gifts for her..so that sort of balances things out. Last year she loved the gift I got her, a 1 serving teapot that you can brew the tea in. Their 8 yr old daughter is easy too, any small figurine. So as Meatloaf would say, "two out of three ain't bad."

It hasn't been so much that I had difficulty finding presents for anyone, I usually can find things everyone would like, I am very limited in budget so finding things that are in my price range has been a big challenge this year. I have managed to buy gifts for my grown kids and son in law, though I am still seeking an affordable gift for my husband. He always wants things that are beyond affordability.
